Johnny Strilaeff, Acting President & CEO
Johnny Strilaeff was born and raised in Castlegar. The Board of Directors appointed him Acting President & Chief Executive Officer of Columbia Power in 2017. He is currently the President & CEO of Columbia Basin Trust. He joined the Trust in 2005 and immediately took a keen interest in the partnership with Columbia Power and hydro projects in the Basin. He brings many years of Executive leadership experience. Previously, Johnny worked for several years with CIBC. Johnny is a graduate of Selkirk College (Diploma in Liberal Arts & Sciences) and the University of Calgary (Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in Finance). He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Sue Dyer, Vice President, Operations
Sue Dyer has over 20 years experience in Plant Operations and Maintenance Management in both British Columbia and Alberta. Most recently Sue was employed as the Manager, Electric Generation at the City of Medicine Hat, accountable for the full scope of management of the City’s Generation Facility. Sue has also held the positions of General Manager at Brookfield Renewable Power and spent many years in Operations Management at West Kootenay Power/FortisBC. Sue holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters of International Business Administration and a Project Management Professional Certification.
Giulio Ambrosone, Vice President, Capital Projects
Giulio Ambrosone joined Columbia Power in 2003 after four years as the Resident Engineer with Klohn Crippen/SNC Lavalin, Columbia Power’s Owner’s Consultant during construction of the Arrow Lakes Generating Station. Giulio has a Master’s of Science degree in Construction Management, and is also a professional engineer with a degree in civil engineering, and over 30 years experience in power plant construction.
David De Git, Director, Finance
David De Git has been with Columbia Power since 1999. In his current position, he is responsible for accounting, risk management and controllership for the corporation. David is a member of the Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia and served as a CMABC Board Director from 2006 to 2008.
Frank Marino, Director, Human Resources & Corporate Services
Frank Marino joined Columbia Power in 2013. Frank is responsible for developing HR strategies, policies, processes, practices and programs to support the organizations activities including recruitment and selection, performance management, learning and development. He is also accountable to the Board of Directors on executive hiring and compensation related items, ensuring that the organization is compliant with the Public Sector Employers’ Council policies and guidelines. Frank has a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia along with over 20 years experience in Human Resources and Management in both public sector health care and the private sector.
Brandon Haney, Manager, Technical Services
Brandon Haney joined Columbia Power in 2014 as a Senior Electrical Engineer working on Asset Reliability and Plant Operations & Maintenance. Brandon has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Electrical Power Engineering. He previously worked for BC Hydro in Design, Commissioning, Resource Management and reliable Operations & Maintenance. Brandon is a practicing Professional Engineer with APEGBC. His passion lies in the application of predictive technologies to the maintenance of hydro equipment and ensuring the right maintenance is completed at the right time.
Marie Chanton, Controller
Marie Chanton joined Columbia Power in 2010. Marie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, a Chartered Professional Accounting designation (CPA CA), and several years of experience working within the provincial government in external audit, internal audit and financial management.
