Supporting Positive Community Impacts
Columbia Power is committed to working with a wide range of stakeholders to build strong, positive relationships to develop power projects that will benefit communities socially, economically, and environmentally.
During major construction projects, Columbia Power works with Community Impact Management Committees (CIMC) made up of members of local and regional government, First Nations, business, community stakeholders and special interest groups. The CIMCs meet regularly to support and encourage positive community impacts and benefits and relay community concerns resulting from construction of a project.
The CIMCs work directly with an independent monitor who attends each meeting and monitors and reports on the social and economic impacts of the project on the local area. See Socio-Economic Monitoring to learn more about socio-economic monitoring.
