Community Sponsorship

Translating Power Projects into Benefits for the Columbia Basin

Columbia Power is committed to translating power project investments into benefits for the residents of the Columbia Basin. The First Nations and Community Sponsorship programs are one example of how Columbia Power works to help build strong partnerships and vibrant communities across the Columbia Basin.

To achieve the widest distribution of funds within the Columbia Basin region, Columbia Power’s sponsorship programs look to provide small sources of support to as many eligible recipients as possible.

Columbia Power’s funding supports a wide range of activities including:

  • Arts and cultural programming and events
  • Educational and youth-centered projects
  • Activities that support recreation and leisure
  • Health and wellness
  • Heritage
  • Environmental and conservation efforts
  • First Nations initiatives
